I was sitting in my apartment, starring off into space, and something struck me. That got me thinking.

What decade is this?

It’s not the aughts or the aughties or what the fuck ever “VH1” and “E!” came up with when they realized it was time to make a whole lot of retrospective shows about the last ten years.

We’re not in the teens, even though the teens will technically occur in this decade, those are still a few years away.

So where do 2010, 2011 and 2012 fall in?

Then it dawned on me.

We are in the tweens. Even my spell check is upset about that.

NOTE: I do realize that a new decade hasn’t actually started yet. But in my experience the type of people who point that out are also the type of people who didn’t like Avatar because the story is preposterous. Who cares if it is? I mean did you see the part where Jakesully descends from the sky on that huge winged beast which is really sacred to the people apparently? I love that part. I see you, that part.
